Fortner - Process Assessment and Refinement Intern


ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, the intern will work with our residential and commercial reupholstery department to create and refine processes and operations. Some of the tasks will be as follows:

  • Track job costing

  • Create systems to improve work efficiency

  • Create systems to track jobs through reupholstery process

  • Identify if actual job cost is in line with sale price

  • Work with superiors to refine created processes

  • Industry research to identify standard metrics and market forcast

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate or current student of Industrial Design or Operational Excellence undergrad program

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Organizational skills

  • Knowledge of systems or design thinking principles

  • Interpersonal skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products ( Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

  • Desire to learn

ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • Interns will be asked to create presentations based on their work weekly.

POSITION DETAILS

  • Part Time - 25hrs/Week

  • 90 Day summer internship working to the applicant’s schedule

  • $13/hr
