LR Design+Build is looking to hire a new graduate.
We're in need of another design engineer to work in the office. There's a wide range of potential focuses for them, but I've included some of what we have in mind.
Potential Duties
Work along side project managers/senior design engineers to create design proposals for clients.
Work along side project managers/senior design engineers to design and engineer interactive.
This includes design the object in SketchUp, engineering it for fabrication, followed by prepping the files for CNC routing/laser cutting.
Creating shop drawings for fabricators to use in assembly.
Sourcing supplies needed to complete the project, electronics, plumbing parts, etc.
Assist in creating project proposals.
Creating product PDFs/website listings.
When necessary to help in the assembly/fabrication of interactives.
General Graphic Design - specifically for creating general graphics/signage for exhibits as well as creating product PDFs/promotional literature.
Skills
Proficiency in SketchUp/Layout
Strong problem solving abilities
Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign
Proficiency with or willingness to learn SquareSpace
Willingness to learn new skills
Comfortability with basic hand and power tools
This is by no means a comprehensive list of duties/skills, nor do we necessarily expect one person to fill all of the duties.
If there are students that seem more interested with the hands on fabrication side/more maker style work I'd love to talk to them as well about what we're looking for in someone for the shop as well.
