ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, the intern will work with our design department in order to help us perform research and develop a new product line for Fortner. Tasks may include the following:

• Design and market research

• Facilitate discovery sessions

• Identify market opportunities

• Ideate furniture designs

• Prototype furniture designs

• Present research and designs to superiors

• Sourcing

• Maintain a schedule for project completion

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate or current student of Industrial Design undergrad program

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Organizational skills

• Knowledge of systems or design thinking principles

• Interpersonal skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products ( Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

• Proficiency in Fusion 360, Sketchup, or Solidworks

• Sketching skills

• Research skills

• Desire to learn

POSITION DETAILS

• Part Time - 25hrs/Week

• 90 Day summer internship working to the applicant’s schedule

• $13/hr
