JOB SUMMARY:
This is an opportunity to be immersed in the culture of a leading general aviation manufacturer, home to two iconic brands: Cessna and Beechcraft. In this role, you’ll collaborate with and learn from our experienced Industrial Design staff. The open office layout encourages cross-disciplinary teamwork with design, mechanical, and electrical experts driving new product development. From small single-engine aircraft to super-midsized jets, the design projects span a wide range. Your primary focus will be interior development, where you’ll integrate technology and human factors to enhance the cabin experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· At a minimum, fully understand and follow the project design brief and produce requested deliverables on time.
· Based on project scope, preform thorough research, ideation, concept generation, and design refinement.
· Support Human Factor mockups to inform design development.
· Ask questions, challenge the status quo, and bring a high level of enthusiasm and creativity.
· Be collaborative. Work through solutions with Engineering, Interior Design, and other technical groups and interns.
· Build engaging presentations that communicate your design journey and final solutions.
· There is much to learn in this 10-week experience - take advantage of as many intern events as possible and participate in facility tours at both east and west campuses.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
· Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, Product Design or other relative design discipline.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Excellent visual communication skills
· Experience with Adobe Suite products, CAD modeling and rendering software
