2025 Senior Capstone Presentations

At the conclusion of their senior year, Industrial and Innovative Design students at the International Center for Creativity present a semester-long capstone project that highlights their creative problem-solving abilities. Each student navigates the full design process, sharing a compelling narrative that includes their research, design thinking strategies, ideation, and refined concepts. These projects span multiple industries and explore a wide range of topics, including community architecture, hypercars, educational tools, hygiene care products, furniture with a purpose, and more.

Angling for Growth: A Blueprint for Rural Revitalization through a Shared Passion of the Outdoors

There is an increasing demand for a dedicated space in the Tionesta community to celebrate and support outdoor recreation, particularly hunting and fishing traditions. Establishing a Hunting and Fishing Community Center will provide an inclusive venue for outdoor education, community engagement, and resource sharing, fostering a stronger connection among residents and visitors alike.

Solace Jewelry: Jewelry designed for women's self-defense

This product mixes style with safety, giving women discreet self-defense tools for everyday peace of mind. Each piece is designed to make you feel confident and protected without sacrificing beauty.

Today, cafes are increasingly torn between two often conflicting roles: a workspace for productivity and third places for community connection. This project seeks to bridge this gap by creating a space that offers quiet workspaces while also fostering a vibrant, community-focused environment that encourages both face-to-face interaction and deeper community engagement.

Lacrosse has been one of the fastest-growing sports in America for many years, yet no company has released a helmet specifically for the goalie position. This project will build on the brand language of Cascade, creators of the best-selling lacrosse helmets, to meet the unique needs of this position.

With a broadening awareness of autism spectrum needs, there is an increasing need for furniture that meets the needs of children on the autism spectrum. The aim of this project is to design household furniture that can be used to meet the sensory needs of autistic children.

The Yellow Jacket Sports Complex is a state-of-the-art indoor sports facility designed to enhance athlete development, foster community engagement, and elevate Cedarville University’s athletic programs to new heights.

JASCO Community and Learning Center

Dublin OH is the home to the largest Japanese community in Ohio. However there is a serious lack of resources to help these residents connect with Dublin natives. My project aims to create a community center for JASCO in order to make a space that helps solve the challenges foreign residents face, and help native residents connect with different cultures.

Restoring a small town coffee shop

In Warsaw, Indina there are few places for people to go out and meet each other. The coffee shop Light Rail has previously attempted to solve this problem, but has met a lot of adversity recently. This project aims to refresh the look and feel of the coffee shop while giving the brand a renewed sense of purpose.

Reimagining affordable lodging near national parks. A sustainable and community-driven concept.

America's National Parks are for everyone to experience. However, expensive lodging is a primary reason as to why people are unable to visit. This project aims to solve that problem by developing an affordable and safe place for people to stay, while simultaneously encouraging community and bringing people together in the quickly growing outdoor community.

A tool kit for in classroom use to concretely teach core math concepts, including Fractions, Number Sense, Graphs, and Algebraic Expressions. These math manipulatives will engage students, encourage peer to peer collaboration, and build concrete understanding of the concepts.

Designing an immersive set for Sight & Sound Theatres based on the biblical story of Elijah, this project aims to immerse the audience in the story while showcasing the practical aspects of set design for actors and stagehands.

To assist elderly, the handicapped, small children, and even the capable adult, this boat accessory helps users get from one surface to another. It helps those who are unsteady but still enjoy being on a boat board or move around, it prevents personal items from falling into the water, and avoids oil spills from happening.

In a stagnated and oversaturated smartwatch market, CASIO finds itself in the lackluster dust. This project aims to propel CASIO forward in the smartwatch space.

In impoverished nations, millions of women face period poverty, lacking access to menstrual products and education. This stigmatized issue leads to missed school, infections, and shame. This project empowers women through period care by providing a DIY kit that teaches them how to create reusable pads and promotes menstrual hygiene.
