2023 Senior Capstone Presentations

Industrial and Innovative Design students at the International Center for Creativity showcase their creative problem solving skills on a semester-long capstone project at the end of their senior year. Each person in the cohort follows the design process and tells a compelling story of their research, design thinking methods, ideation and refined concepts. Students work across multiple industries on a variety of projects including healthcare, music, automotive, fire service, prosthetics, real estate, commercial architecture, residential architecture, sports, toys, wearables, furniture, health + beauty, technology and more.

Clover Care Children’s Hospital

Hospitals are stressful for anyone, but children and teenagers are especially impacted. This project proposes a conceptualization to help ease the anxiety and helplessness that hospitalized adolescents might feel.

People with long and thick hair have a harder time washing their hair. Thick hair holds water for longer, and long hair requires before and aftercare, leading to an overall tiring experience. I want to make a product that saves time and addresses the main pain points of the hair-washing process for people with thick and long hair.

Losing an arm can make many of the tasks involved in farming very difficult. My goal is to create a prosthetic device that enables independent farmers who have lost an arm to return to work with no deficits and maintain their self-sufficiency.

I've set out to solve this problem by designing a product that quickly and harmlessly dries high-performance mittens and gloves so they can keep your hands warm and dry no matter what you are doing!

Chick-fil-A delivery vehicles are not currently equipped for easy and secure storage of thermal bags and other supplies. This project aims to create a shelf system for any hatchback that better utilizes the space in the vehicle and makes the delivery process easier for the Chick-fil-A driver.

Time blindness can be a challenging condition to manage, causing individuals to struggle with accurately perceiving and estimating the passage of time. However, with the right strategies and tools, it is possible to adapt and improve time perception.
